The series includes correspondence with suppliers and funders, invoices and receipts, licenses and budgets, and brochures and advertisements. There are also some photographs. Companies include Thomas Cook, WH Smiths, Boots the Chemist, and Cadbury-Fry Ltd.

This series comprises records which document the activities of the club. These include copies of papers read at meetings, scrapbooks and photograph albums detailing field trips, and ephemera documenting dinners and celebrations.

The notebooks contain notes whilst on location and elsewhere, sketches (mostly geological) in pencil, ink and watercolour. There is also ephemera such as business cards and railway timetables.

These notebooks contains notes, sketches and details of specimens collected on a large number of excursions. They include a lot of material relating to work undertaken for the Geological Survey.

The sketchbooks include pencil, ink and watercolour stratigraphic sketches of places visited.

Minute Books, 1880 - 1970
The minute books include the date and location of meetings, details of members in attendance (ordinary and honorary), titles and details of papers read, accounts of discussions and elections, and details of arrangements made for social activities and excursions. Many of the minute books from the 1920s include printed cards listing the talks and speakers for the entire academic term. Some volumes include letters from members or their families.
